Southampton Operatic Society celebrates ninety years of bringing comic operas to the City by reprising one of Gilbert & Sullivan‘s finest efforts – the ever popular The Pirates of Penzance.

Sullivan’s delightful music complements Gilbert’s witty words as they fill the stage with chaotic policemen, soft hearted pirates, a Major General with far too many daughters and a hero who has an over-developed sense of duty.

Musical highlights abound including evergreen favourites such as  “A Policeman’s Lot is not a Happy One”, “Poor Wand’ring One” and “I am the Very Model of a Modern Major General”.
